Arms and armour
Arms and armour
The collection of weapons includes sophisticated armour and edged weapons, polearms, crossbows, shields and firearms from the 14th to the mid-19th century. While certain pieces were intended for tournaments and festive occasions, others were used on campaigns in real battle. Most of these objects can be found in the section on Arms and Armour – an attraction for young and old alike.
The magnificent hunting weapons from the Renaissance and Baroque periods occupy a special position. Most of them come from the collections of the Wittelsbach rulers and are exhibited in a room entirely dedicated to princely hunting.
