Textiles

This section is responsible for the care of the extensive and significant textile collection. It includes costumes and accessories, sacred vestments, tapestries, flat textiles, embroidery and lace. Tasks include the construction of custom packaging and display mounts, mannequins for costumes and, most importantly, pest control. Analyses of the fibres, weave construction and manufacturing techniques support the cataloguing and research of these complex textiles.
