Description
This bottle is the oldest known brandy container made of wood in Germany. In the 17th century, spirits had finally gained acceptance as a means of enjoyment. Drinking games provided additional amusement when drinking together. The humorous inscription on this bottle can only be read when it is turned several times. The revellers sitting at the table also found out that it was given to its owner, 'Stöfan Lacher', by 13 of his fellow craftsmen. Therefore, the bottle could be a joint gift as a memento of a special occasion such as a wedding.
