The Bayerisches Nationalmuseum’s porcelain collection owes its international fame to the outstanding products of the Meissen, Nymphenburg and Frankenthal manufactories. A large part of it comes from the courtly collections of the Wittelsbach dynasties. Special highlights are the early Meissen porcelains and the Nymphenburg figurines by the ingenious modeller Franz Anton Bustelli.
In addition to the nearly 800 objects in the permanent collection on Baroque Luxury in the main building, there is a magnificent branch museum awaiting visitors at the Lustheim Palace with the renowned Meissen Porcelain Collection of the Ernst Schneider Foundation.
